What Are Beakers with Handle Used For?

The handle is what sets these beakers apart: a litre or more of liquid is heavy and slippery to hold by the body alone, so the handle gives a firm, safe grip when carrying distilled water, diluting stock solutions or pouring buffer into a reservoir. The tall form keeps liquid further from the rim, which reduces splashing when a batch is stirred. The 3,000 mL and 5,000 mL sizes are useful for making up class quantities of a reagent in one go.

Being autoclavable polypropylene, the beakers can be sterilised for microbiology media work and reused. Keep them away from flames and hot plates, and pour slowly from the larger sizes, supporting the base with the other hand when the beaker is full.

What to Specify When Ordering

  • Which of the seven sizes you need: 50, 250, 500, 1,000, 2,000, 3,000 or 5,000 mL.
  • The number of beakers in each size.
  • Whether you also need plain spouted Beakers for small-volume bench work.

Frequently Asked Questions

What sizes do the Beakers with Handle come in?
The Beakers with Handle (SLE/P/02) are listed in seven sizes: 50, 250, 500, 1,000, 2,000, 3,000 and 5,000 mL. You can order a single size or a mix of sizes, and the quotation will show each one separately.

What does tall form mean on the Beakers with Handle?
Tall form means the Beakers with Handle are taller and narrower than a standard low-form beaker of the same volume. The liquid sits further below the rim, which reduces splashing during stirring and pouring, and the handle makes full beakers easier to carry.

Are the Beakers with Handle autoclavable?
Yes, the Beakers with Handle are made of autoclavable polypropylene, so they can be steam-sterilised and reused. Leave space between beakers in the autoclave and allow them to cool completely before filling or stacking them again.

Can the Beakers with Handle be used for heating?
No, the Beakers with Handle are polypropylene and should not be used over a flame or on a hot plate, because the plastic will soften. Prepare warm solutions in borosilicate glassware and transfer them once cool, or use these beakers for room-temperature work.

Who supplies the Beakers with Handle?
The Beakers with Handle are supplied by Jain Scientific Equipments Pvt Ltd, trading as ScienceLab, from Ambala, Haryana, India. The company supplies plastic ware to schools, colleges, hospitals, dealers and importers in India and international markets.

Widemouthed Wash Bottles

Product Code : SLE/P/03

Widemouthed Wash Bottles (Product Code: SLE/P/03) are 500 mL (16 oz) squeeze bottles used to rinse glassware, wash down precipitates and add liquid drop by drop in chemistry, biology and clinical labs. Students and technicians like them because the wide mouth makes refilling quick and clean, and the standard spout delivers either a single drop or a needle-sharp stream. They are supplied by Jain Scientific Equipments Pvt Ltd (ScienceLab), Ambala, India, a laboratory equipment supplier in India for teaching and routine labs.

Specifications

ParameterDetail
Capacity500 mL (16 oz)
MouthWide, for easy filling
Spout styleStandard spout
DeliverySingle drop or needle-sharp stream; tip can be cut back to increase delivery
Material (as listed)LDPE / polypropylene
Product codeSLE/P/03
Supplied byJain Scientific Equipments Pvt Ltd (ScienceLab), Ambala, India

What Are Widemouthed Wash Bottles Used For?

A wash bottle is the most-used tool on a chemistry bench. It rinses the last traces of a solution from a beaker into a volumetric flask, washes a precipitate down the side of a filter funnel, and brings a flask up to the mark one drop at a time. The needle-sharp stream reaches corners of glassware that a tap cannot, while a gentle squeeze gives a single controlled drop.

The wide mouth is the practical advantage of this bottle: it can be refilled straight from a carboy or jug without a funnel, and its inside is easy to clean when the contents change. Label each bottle with what it holds, such as distilled water or ethanol, and cut the tip back only a little at a time, because a trimmed tip cannot be made finer again.

Supplier

Jain Scientific Equipments Private Limited supplies the Widemouthed Wash Bottles from Ambala, Haryana, under its ScienceLab trading name, as part of the Scientific Lab Plasticware range. Schools, colleges, pathology and industrial labs, dealers and importers in India and international markets can order them with beakers, bottles and funnels on one enquiry. Frequently Asked Questions

What is the capacity of the Widemouthed Wash Bottles?
The Widemouthed Wash Bottles (SLE/P/03) hold 500 mL, which is 16 oz. That size is large enough to rinse a full set of glassware between refills yet still comfortable to squeeze with one hand during titration or filtration work.

Why choose a widemouthed wash bottle?
A widemouthed wash bottle can be refilled quickly from a carboy or jug without spilling or using a funnel, and the inside is easy to clean when you switch liquids. The Widemouthed Wash Bottles combine this easy filling with a standard spout for controlled delivery.

How is the flow controlled on the Widemouthed Wash Bottles?
The Widemouthed Wash Bottles deliver a single drop with a light squeeze or a needle-sharp stream with a firmer one. If you need more flow, the tip can be cut back to increase delivery; trim a little at a time, since it cannot be reversed.

What material are the Widemouthed Wash Bottles made from?
The Widemouthed Wash Bottles are listed as LDPE and polypropylene, which suit distilled water and most aqueous solutions. If you plan to fill them with organic solvents, ask us first so we can confirm the materials of each part before you order.

Who supplies the Widemouthed Wash Bottles, and in what quantities?

Narrow Mouthed Bottles

Product Code : SLE/P/04

Narrow Mouthed Bottles (Product Code: SLE/P/04) are polypropylene bottles with liner-less polypropylene caps, used to store and pour liquid reagents, buffers and samples in school, college and routine laboratories. Chemistry and biology labs stock them in several sizes, from 30 mL for student reagent sets up to 2,000 mL for stock solutions. They are supplied by Jain Scientific Equipments Pvt Ltd (ScienceLab), Ambala, India, as part of the plastic ware and lab consumables it supplies across India.

Specifications

ParameterDetail
Bottle materialPolypropylene
CapLiner-less polypropylene cap

Capacities30, 60, 125, 250, 500, 1,000 and 2,000 mL
Product codeSLE/P/04
Supplied byJain Scientific Equipments Pvt Ltd (ScienceLab), Ambala, India

What Are Narrow Mouthed Bottles Used For?

A narrow neck is the right shape for liquids: it pours in a controlled stream, limits splashing and slows evaporation between uses. In practice the small 30 mL and 60 mL sizes suit student reagent sets and sample collection, the 125–500 mL sizes serve as bench bottles for acids, bases and indicator solutions, and the 1,000 mL and 2,000 mL sizes hold the stock from which smaller bottles are refilled.

Because the caps are liner-less, there is no separate liner to trap residue, fall out or react with the contents, which also makes washing simpler. Fill the bottles through a funnel, label every bottle with its contents and date, and keep light-sensitive reagents in amber glass instead.

What to Specify When Ordering

  • The capacities you need from 30, 60, 125, 250, 500, 1,000 and 2,000 mL.
  • The quantity of each size, for example one set per student bench.
  • Whether any reagents are light-sensitive and need an amber glass alternative.
  • Your delivery location in India or abroad.

Supplier

The Narrow Mouthed Bottles are supplied by Jain Scientific Equipments Private Limited, the Ambala, Haryana company that trades as ScienceLab, within its Scientific Lab Plasticware range. Schools, colleges, testing labs, dealers and importers in India and international markets can order single sizes or mixed sets. Company details are on the ScienceLab profile.

Frequently Asked Questions

What capacities are the Narrow Mouthed Bottles available in?
The Narrow Mouthed Bottles (SLE/P/04) come in seven capacities: 30, 60, 125, 250, 500, 1,000 and 2,000 mL. Labs usually combine small sizes for student reagent sets with one or two large sizes for stock solutions.

What is a liner-less cap on the Narrow Mouthed Bottles?
A liner-less cap closes the Narrow Mouthed Bottles without a separate disc or wad inside the cap. With no liner there is nothing to trap residue, drop into the reagent or need replacing, and the polypropylene cap washes as easily as the bottle.

Should I choose narrow-mouthed or wide-mouthed bottles?
Choose the Narrow Mouthed Bottles for liquids, because the small opening pours in a controlled stream and limits spills and evaporation. Choose wide-mouthed bottles for powders, crystals and specimens that must be spooned in or out.

Which liquids can be stored in the Narrow Mouthed Bottles?
The Narrow Mouthed Bottles are polypropylene, which suits most aqueous acids, bases, salt solutions and buffers used in teaching labs. Strong oxidising agents and some organic solvents can attack the plastic, so ask us before storing them, and use amber glass for light-sensitive reagents.

Who supplies the Narrow Mouthed Bottles, and can I order mixed sizes?

Unitary Wash Bottles

Product Code : SLE/P/05

Unitary Wash Bottles (Product Code: SLE/P/05) are plastic wash bottles whose bottle and delivery tubing are moulded in one piece, used to rinse glassware and dispense wash liquids in teaching, research and clinical labs. Because there is no joint between bottle and tube, there is nothing to work loose or leak, and the whole contents can be dispensed without tipping or shaking. They are supplied by Jain Scientific Equipments Pvt Ltd (ScienceLab), Ambala, India, a school lab equipment supplier in India, in three listed sizes.

Specifications

ParameterDetail
ConstructionBottle and tubing moulded in one piece for strength, with no joint to leak
DispensingEntire contents can be dispensed without tipping or shaking
TipDelivers a fine stream; can be cut back to increase flow
MaterialPlastic
Sizes (as listed)125, 500 and 1000 (unit not stated in the listing; confirm when ordering)
Product codeSLE/P/05
Supplied byJain Scientific Equipments Pvt Ltd (ScienceLab), Ambala, India

What Are Unitary Wash Bottles Used For?

On a busy student bench, the weak point of an ordinary wash bottle is the joint where the tube passes through the cap: it loosens, drips and lets liquid run down the hand. The one-piece design of the Unitary Wash Bottles removes that joint, so the bottle can be squeezed hard, knocked over or passed around a class without leaking. And since the whole contents can be dispensed without tipping, the bottle stays upright until the last of the liquid is used.

Use the fine stream for rinsing burettes, pipettes and the walls of titration flasks, and cut the tip back a little if you need faster flow for washing large glassware. Keep separate, clearly labelled bottles for distilled water, ethanol or other wash liquids so they are never mixed up.

What to Specify When Ordering

  • Which listed size you need — 125, 500 or 1000 — and confirm the unit with us.
  • The number of bottles of each size.
  • The liquids you plan to use, so we can check they suit the plastic.

Supplier

ScienceLab, the trading name of Jain Scientific Equipments Private Limited in Ambala, Haryana, supplies the Unitary Wash Bottles within its Scientific Lab Plasticware range. They can be ordered by schools, universities, hospital and industrial labs, dealers and importers in India and international markets, on their own or with other bench plastic ware. Frequently Asked Questions

What makes the Unitary Wash Bottles different from ordinary wash bottles?
The Unitary Wash Bottles (SLE/P/05) have the bottle and delivery tubing moulded in one piece for strength. With no separate joint between tube and bottle, there is nothing to loosen or leak, which suits student benches where bottles are squeezed hard and handled often.

Can the whole contents be used without tipping the bottle?
Yes, the Unitary Wash Bottles are designed so the entire contents can be dispensed without tipping or shaking the bottle. The user simply squeezes it upright, which keeps the stream steady and avoids the drips that come from turning a bottle upside down.

What sizes are the Unitary Wash Bottles available in?
The Unitary Wash Bottles are listed in sizes 125, 500 and 1000, but the listing does not state the unit. Please confirm the size and unit with us through the contact page before ordering, so the quotation matches exactly what your lab expects.

How do I get a stronger flow from the Unitary Wash Bottles?
The dispensing tip of the Unitary Wash Bottles gives a fine stream as supplied and can be cut back to increase the flow. Trim a small amount at a time with clean scissors, because a tip that has been cut shorter cannot be made finer again.

What plastic are the Unitary Wash Bottles made of?
The Unitary Wash Bottles listing describes the material only as plastic and does not name the polymer. They suit distilled water and common aqueous wash liquids; if you plan to use organic solvents, ask us to confirm compatibility before you buy.

Who supplies the Unitary Wash Bottles?
The Unitary Wash Bottles are supplied by Jain Scientific Equipments Pvt Ltd, trading as ScienceLab, from Ambala, Haryana, India. Single bottles and bulk quantities can be quoted for schools, laboratories, dealers and importers in India and international markets.

MouthWide, for easy cleaning
Capacities125, 250, 500 and 1000 mL
Product codeSLE/P/06
Supplied byJain Scientific Equipments Pvt Ltd (ScienceLab), Ambala, India

What Are Polyethylene Widemouthed Bottles Used For?

Wide-mouth bottles are the standard store for anything that has to be scooped rather than poured: salts and crystals for practical classes, powdered reagents, soil and sediment samples from field work, seeds, and small specimens. The opening is wide enough for a spatula or spoon, so material can be taken out without tipping the bottle, and the translucent HDPE lets you judge how much is left without opening it.

The same wide mouth makes the bottles quick to wash and dry when they are reused for a new substance. Tighten the polypropylene screw closure after every use to keep out moisture, label the bottle with contents and date, and keep liquids that need a controlled pour in narrow-mouthed bottles instead.

What to Specify When Ordering

  • Which capacities you need: 125, 250, 500 or 1000 mL.
  • The number of bottles in each capacity.
  • What the bottles will hold, so we can advise on suitability.

Frequently Asked Questions

What capacities do the Polyethylene Widemouthed Bottles come in?
The Polyethylene Widemouthed Bottles (SLE/P/06) are listed in four capacities: 125, 250, 500 and 1000 mL. Most labs pick small sizes for student practical sets and the larger sizes for bulk solids or field samples.

What are the bottle and cap made of?
The Polyethylene Widemouthed Bottles are made of translucent high-density polyethylene and closed with natural polypropylene screw closures. HDPE is tough and resists most aqueous chemicals, while the screw closure keeps moisture and dust away from the contents.

What should the Polyethylene Widemouthed Bottles be used for?
The Polyethylene Widemouthed Bottles suit solids and samples that are scooped rather than poured, such as salts, powders, crystals, soil, seeds and small specimens. The wide mouth also makes them easy to clean and reuse when the contents change.

Can I see how full the bottles are without opening them?
Yes, the Polyethylene Widemouthed Bottles are translucent, so the level of the contents can usually be seen through the wall. They are not glass-clear, so for close inspection of a sample you should still open the bottle or transfer a little to a dish.

Who supplies the Polyethylene Widemouthed Bottles?

Pneumatic Trough

Product Code : SLE/P/07

Pneumatic Trough (Product Code: SLE/P/07) is a water trough with a built-in bridge, used to collect gases over water in school and college chemistry practicals. Teachers pick it because the coloured trough is resilient, rustproof, lightweight and noise free, and its bridge holds four 8-oz widemouthed bottles at once. It is supplied by Jain Scientific Equipments Pvt Ltd (ScienceLab), Ambala, India, alongside the other gas collection apparatus schools in India use for these experiments.

Specifications

ParameterDetail
TroughColoured; resilient, rustproof, lightweight and noise free
BridgeBuilt in
Bottle capacity of bridgeHolds four 8-oz widemouthed bottles
ConnectionsInlet connection and overflow outlet, each taking 1/4-inch (about 6 mm) diameter tubing
Product codeSLE/P/07
Supplied byJain Scientific Equipments Pvt Ltd (ScienceLab), Ambala, India

What Is a Pneumatic Trough Used For?

A pneumatic trough is the classic way to collect a gas that does not dissolve much in water, such as oxygen or hydrogen prepared in class. The trough is filled with water, a bottle or gas jar is filled, inverted and stood on the bridge, and the delivery tube from the gas generator is led underneath. Bubbles rise into the bottle and push the water out, so students can see exactly how much gas has been produced.

The built-in bridge means no separate beehive shelf is needed, and holding four bottles lets a group collect several samples in a row for tests such as the glowing splint or the lighted splint. Lead the overflow outlet to a sink or bucket so excess water drains away, and take the delivery tube out of the water before stopping any heating, so water cannot be sucked back into hot glassware. Being rustproof, the trough can simply be rinsed and left to dry.

What to Specify When Ordering

  • The number of troughs, usually one per practical group.
  • Whether you also need widemouthed bottles or gas jars to stand on the bridge.
  • Tubing for the 1/4-inch inlet connection and overflow outlet.
  • Any colour preference, which we will confirm on the quotation.

Supplier

The Pneumatic Trough is supplied by Jain Scientific Equipments Private Limited, the Ambala, Haryana company that trades as ScienceLab, as part of its Scientific Lab Plasticware range. Schools, junior colleges, coaching institutes, dealers and importers in India and international markets can order it with gas jars, tubing and delivery tubes for a complete gas-collection set-up. Company information is on the ScienceLab profile.

Related Scientific Lab Plasticware

These items complete a gas preparation and collection experiment:

  • Gas Jar, Glass — a jar that can be filled with water and inverted in the trough to collect gas.
  • Gas Jar Cover — seals a filled gas jar when it is lifted out for testing.
  • Delivery Tube — carries gas from the generating flask to the trough.
  • Rubber Tubing — flexible connections between the apparatus and the trough fittings.

More plastic ware is listed in the Scientific Lab Plasticware category.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the Pneumatic Trough used for?
The Pneumatic Trough (SLE/P/07) is used to collect gases over water in chemistry practicals. Bottles or gas jars filled with water stand inverted on its bridge, and gas from a delivery tube bubbles up into them, displacing the water so the gas can be collected and tested.

What does the built-in bridge on the Pneumatic Trough hold?
The built-in bridge of the Pneumatic Trough holds four 8-oz widemouthed bottles. That lets a group collect several gas samples one after another without a separate beehive shelf, which keeps the set-up simple and stable on the bench.

What size tubing fits the Pneumatic Trough?
Both the inlet connection and the overflow outlet of the Pneumatic Trough take tubing of 1/4-inch diameter, which is about 6 mm. Tell us if you would like matching tubing quoted with the trough so the set arrives ready to connect.

What is the Pneumatic Trough made of?
The Pneumatic Trough is described as a coloured trough that is resilient, rustproof, lightweight and noise free. The listing does not name the exact material, colour or overall dimensions, so please ask us through the contact page if you need them for a tender or bench layout.

How should the Pneumatic Trough be cleaned after use?
Empty the Pneumatic Trough, rinse it with clean water and leave it upside down to drain and dry. Because it is rustproof, it can be stored wet without corrosion, but drying it keeps the connections clean and prevents water marks.

Who supplies the Pneumatic Trough, and can schools order several?
The Pneumatic Trough is supplied by Jain Scientific Equipments Pvt Ltd (ScienceLab), Ambala, India. Single troughs, one per practical group, or bulk quantities can be quoted for schools, dealers and importers in India and international markets.

NeckOffset, for easy filling and pouring
HandlesYes, for easy carrying
StopcockLeak-proof, heavy-duty, with boss fitting for extra strength
GraduationsFront-moulded, readable even when carboys stand in a row
Product codeSLE/P/08
Supplied byJain Scientific Equipments Pvt Ltd (ScienceLab), Ambala, India

What Are Polypropylene Carboys Used For?

A carboy with a stopcock turns a shelf into a dispensing station. Distilled or deionised water, saline, buffer and wash solutions can be drawn off into a beaker or wash bottle without lifting the container, which saves time and avoids spills. Because the carboys are autoclavable, microbiology labs also use them to prepare and hold sterile water or media in bulk.

The front-moulded graduations let staff check the level of every carboy at a glance when several stand side by side, and the offset neck makes refilling and pouring easier. Stand the carboy with the stopcock over the edge of a bench or shelf so a vessel fits underneath. Remember that a full 20 L carboy of water weighs about 20 kg, so use both handles, and loosen the cap before autoclaving so pressure can equalise.

What to Specify When Ordering

  • The capacity you need: 5 L, 10 L, 15 L or 20 L.
  • The number of carboys of each capacity.
  • The liquid to be stored, so compatibility can be confirmed.
  • Your delivery location in India or abroad.

Supplier

Jain Scientific Equipments Private Limited, known by its trading name ScienceLab, supplies the Polypropylene Carboys from Ambala, Haryana, within the Scientific Lab Plasticware range. Schools, colleges, hospitals, water-testing and industrial labs, dealers and importers in India and international markets can order single carboys or several capacities together. Frequently Asked Questions

What capacities are the Polypropylene Carboys available in?
The Polypropylene Carboys (SLE/P/08) are listed in 5 L, 10 L, 15 L and 20 L capacities. Smaller carboys suit bench-top dispensing, while the 15 L and 20 L sizes are useful as central stores for distilled water or wash solutions.

Can the Polypropylene Carboys be autoclaved?
Yes, the Polypropylene Carboys are made of autoclavable polypropylene, so they can hold sterile water or media. Always loosen the cap before a cycle so pressure can equalise, and let the carboy cool fully before tightening the cap or filling it again.

How is liquid dispensed from the Polypropylene Carboys?
Liquid is drawn from the Polypropylene Carboys through a leak-proof, heavy-duty stopcock fitted with a boss for extra strength. The offset neck also makes it easy to fill the carboy and, when needed, to pour from it using the handles.

Can the level be read when several carboys stand together?
Yes, the Polypropylene Carboys have graduations moulded on the front, so the level of each one can be read even when they are used in a row. Treat the marks as a guide to the volume left rather than an accurate measuring scale.

Which liquids can be stored in the Polypropylene Carboys?
The Polypropylene Carboys suit distilled and deionised water, saline, buffers and most aqueous acid, base and salt solutions. Some organic solvents and strong oxidisers can attack polypropylene, so tell us what you plan to store and we will confirm suitability before you order.

What Is a Dispensing Jug Used For?

A dispensing jug sits on a shelf or bench edge and delivers liquid on demand, so nobody has to lift and tip a heavy container. Labs use it for distilled water beside the titration benches, soap or detergent solution at the wash-up sink, diluted disinfectant, and rinse water in field or mobile labs. A quarter turn of the spigot starts or stops the flow, and the short outlet tube directs the stream neatly into a beaker, bottle or wash bottle.

Fill it through the 52 mm screw-capped opening, using a funnel if the source is a carboy. Loosening a cap slightly lets air in and keeps the flow from the spigot steady. Place the jug so the spigot overhangs the bench edge, and use the bottom grip together with the handle whenever the full jug has to be poured or moved.

The Dispensing Jug (SLE/P/09) listing gives its size, 25 × 25 × 38 cm, but does not state a rated capacity. Please ask us through the contact page for the nominal volume before ordering, so you can plan how often it will need refilling.

How does the spigot on the Dispensing Jug work?
The Dispensing Jug has a thread-mounted low-density polyethylene spigot that opens and closes with a quarter turn. The spigot extends 108 mm from the jug, and its outlet tube is 35 mm long and 16 mm in diameter, which gives a neat, directed stream.

What are the two openings on the Dispensing Jug for?
The Dispensing Jug has a screw-capped fill opening of 52 mm diameter for filling and cleaning, plus a screw-capped side opening of 26 mm diameter. Keeping both caps on protects the contents, and loosening one slightly helps air enter so the spigot flows steadily.

What is the Dispensing Jug made of?
The body of the Dispensing Jug is moulded from high-density polyethylene and the spigot from low-density polyethylene. Both suit water, detergent and most aqueous lab solutions; if you intend to store organic solvents, ask us to confirm compatibility first.

Who supplies the Dispensing Jug, and can I order several?
The Dispensing Jug is supplied by Jain Scientific Equipments Pvt Ltd (ScienceLab), Ambala, India. Single jugs and bulk quantities can be quoted for schools, colleges, laboratories, dealers and importers in India and international markets.
