Thermomixer
Thermomixer (Product Code: SLE/CL/13) is a bench-top instrument that mixes samples while heating or cooling them, so incubation and agitation happen in one step instead of moving tubes between a shaker and a heating block. It mixes at 300–3,000 rpm on a 3 mm orbit, controls temperature up to 100 °C, and stores programmes for repeat protocols. Clinical, molecular biology and teaching labs use it for homogenous mixing of samples with controlled heating and cooling. Typical Use
A thermomixer earns its bench space in protocols that need a sample kept at a set temperature while it is agitated: enzyme digestions, lysis steps before nucleic-acid extraction, resuspending pellets, denaturing samples near 100 °C, or holding reactions at a controlled temperature during incubation. Because it can also bring samples below room temperature, the same unit can cool a reaction after heating without a separate ice bath. The programmable keys let a lab store its common protocols so students and new staff run them the same way every time — valuable in lab equipment for research in India where many users share one instrument.
For good results, load tubes symmetrically, close caps fully before high-speed mixing, and start at a lower speed when tubes are well filled, increasing once you see the liquid is contained. Let the unit reach set temperature before loading temperature-sensitive samples, and check that the plug and supply voltage match your site. Wipe the working surface after each session and clean up any spilled liquid promptly.
