Skeletal Muscle, Longitudinal and Transverse Incisions Manufacturer,Supplier and Exporter in India

Skeletal Muscle, Longitudinal and Transverse Incisions (Product Code: SCL411/0105) is a prepared microscope slide showing skeletal muscle cut both lengthwise and across, used to teach the structure of striated muscle in biology and physiology classes. Students compare the two cutting planes on one coloured preparation mounted on borosilicate glass. For schools and colleges building a set of prepared microscope slides, it is supplied by Jain Scientific Equipments Pvt Ltd (ScienceLab), Ambala, India.

What Is the Skeletal Muscle Slide Used For?

Seeing muscle in two planes answers a question students often struggle with: what a long fibre looks like when it is sliced across. In the longitudinal section the fibres appear as long, parallel cylinders crossed by fine light and dark bands, the striations, with several nuclei pressed to the edge of each fibre. In the transverse section the same fibres become rounded or many-sided profiles packed into bundles, again with nuclei at the rim.

Teachers use the slide to connect microscopic banding with how muscles contract and to contrast voluntary skeletal muscle with smooth and cardiac muscle. Striations are clearest at high power with the condenser diaphragm partly closed to raise contrast. Asking students to sketch both views side by side, and to label fibre, nucleus and striation in each, makes the three-dimensional structure easier to picture.

Supplier

Jain Scientific Equipments Private Limited, whose trading name is ScienceLab, supplies this muscle-tissue slide from Ambala, Haryana to teaching laboratories and resellers in India and international markets. Physiology and anatomy departments can ask for the slide on the same quotation as muscle models, other tissue slides and microscopes. The ScienceLab profile page describes the company in more detail.

Related Laboratory Equipment

Teaching aids that work well with this muscle slide:

• Skeletal Muscle Fiber Model — an enlarged model that explains the banding seen on the slide.
• Microslide Animal Tissue Set 2 Muscle, Bone, Connective — places skeletal muscle alongside related tissues.
• Cardiac Muscle — a contrasting muscle type for comparison lessons.
• Microscope Digital Camera, 3MP — for projecting the striations to the whole class.
• Binocular Microscope 1000x mag — high-power viewing for resolving the bands.

Frequently Asked Questions

What does the Skeletal Muscle, Longitudinal and Transverse Incisions slide show?
This slide shows skeletal muscle cut lengthwise and across, as a coloured preparation on borosilicate glass. Students use it to see striated fibres with edge-placed nuclei in one view and bundled fibre profiles in the other.

What does “incisions” mean in the product name?
In the name Skeletal Muscle, Longitudinal and Transverse Incisions, “incisions” refers to the sections or cuts through the tissue. The slide therefore offers a longitudinal section and a transverse section of skeletal muscle for comparison.

How can students see the striations clearly?
Striations on the skeletal muscle slide resolve most clearly at high power on a compound microscope. Partly closing the condenser diaphragm increases contrast, so the light and dark bands across each fibre stand out more distinctly.

How is skeletal muscle different from cardiac muscle on a slide?
On a slide, skeletal muscle shows long unbranched fibres with many nuclei at the edge, while cardiac muscle has branched fibres with central nuclei and junctions between cells. Ordering the skeletal muscle slide with a cardiac muscle slide makes this comparison easy.

Who supplies the skeletal muscle L.S. and T.S. slide?
The Skeletal Muscle, Longitudinal and Transverse Incisions slide is supplied by Jain Scientific Equipments Pvt Ltd (ScienceLab), Ambala, Haryana, India, which sources histology slides for educational buyers and dealers.

What should I include when requesting a quotation?
When requesting a quotation for the skeletal muscle slide, give the code SCL411/0105, the quantity, any companion slides or models, and the delivery location. Use the contact page to send the details.
