Typical Use
Teachers usually begin with the generalized urinary system, following blood into the kidney through the renal artery, looking at the opened right kidney, and tracing urine down the ureters to the bladder and urethra. The two sagittal pelvic sections then show where the bladder sits relative to the reproductive organs in men and women, which makes differences such as urethral length and the position of the uterus or prostate easy to point out.
Because everything is on one flat plaque, the model is convenient to prop up at the front of a class or to lay on a table for small-group revision, and it stores flat in a cupboard. It is a useful addition to any human body model kit used for reproduction, excretion and health-education topics.
