Drying Rack (Product Code: SLE/CH/55) is a peg board in ABS plastic with 18 pegs on which washed flasks, beakers and test tubes are hung upside down to drain and air-dry. Typical Use

After a practical, glassware is scrubbed, rinsed with tap water and given a final rinse with distilled water. Hanging each item neck-down on a peg lets the last of the water drain out and air circulate inside, so borosilicate laboratory glassware is dry and free of drip marks by the next lesson. Heavier items such as conical flasks are best placed on the lower pegs and light test tubes higher up, so that drips do not fall onto glass that is already dry.

Mount the rack on a wall above the sink or draining board, using screws suited to your wall through the two holes, and check that it is level. ABS is easy to wipe down, so clean the pegs occasionally to stop residue transferring to freshly washed glass. Do not hang glassware that is still hot from an oven or flame on the plastic pegs.
