Aniline (Product Code: SCI-461/195) is an analytical reagent grade aromatic amine used in college organic chemistry practicals to prepare acetanilide and azo dyes and to demonstrate the reactions of primary aromatic amines. Organic chemistry lecturers and senior students work with it under supervision, and this listing is a 100 ml pack supplied with an MSDS. It is supplied by Jain Scientific Equipments Pvt Ltd (ScienceLab), Ambala, India, a chemistry consumables supplier in India for colleges and institutes.

Warmed with ethanoic anhydride, aniline is acetylated to acetanilide, which students recrystallise from hot water and identify by its melting point. Diazotised with sodium nitrite and hydrochloric acid in an ice bath and then added to alkaline 2-naphthol, it gives an orange-red azo dye — the standard test for a primary aromatic amine. With bromine water it forms an immediate white precipitate, showing how strongly the amino group activates the benzene ring.
Aniline is also weakly basic: it dissolves in hydrochloric acid as the anilinium salt and separates again when alkali is added, a simple way to teach acid–base extraction. It is toxic through the skin and by inhalation, so dispense it inside a chemical fume cupboard with goggles and chemical-resistant gloves, and keep the bottle closed and dark because the liquid darkens as it oxidises.
Aniline for teaching and research labs is sourced by Jain Scientific Equipments Private Limited, which trades as ScienceLab, and supplied with its MSDS to colleges, universities and institutes in India and international markets. Departments running an organic synthesis course can combine the amine with the anhydride, nitrite, glassware and protective gloves in one quotation request.

What grade and pack size is Aniline SCI-461/195?
Aniline SCI-461/195 is listed as an analytical reagent grade liquid in a 100 ml pack and is supplied with an MSDS. Ask us if you need assay or batch analysis information beyond the grade before you place an order.
Why does Aniline turn brown in storage?
Aniline slowly oxidises in air and light, so a colourless or pale sample darkens to yellow or brown over time. Keep the bottle tightly closed, cool and in the dark; strongly coloured Aniline is usually redistilled before precise synthesis work.
What safety precautions apply to Aniline?
Aniline is toxic if swallowed, inhaled or absorbed through the skin, so dispense it in a fume cupboard while wearing goggles, a lab coat and chemical-resistant gloves. Read the MSDS supplied with the pack and keep spill absorbent close by.
What is the shelf life of Aniline?
Shelf life depends on the chemical, its grade and storage conditions, so we do not give a fixed figure for Aniline. Ask us for the expiry date of the batch you are quoted, and store the bottle away from light and oxidising agents.
Who supplies Aniline SCI-461/195?
Aniline SCI-461/195 is supplied by Jain Scientific Equipments Pvt Ltd (ScienceLab), Ambala, Haryana, India, which sources organic and inorganic reagents for college, university and institutional laboratories in India and international markets.
