What Is the Acid-Base Solution Chart Used For?
The character of an aqueous solution depends on the balance between hydrogen ions and hydroxide ions. When hydrogen ions are in excess the medium is acidic, when hydroxide ions dominate it is alkaline, and when the two are equal it is neutral.
